Another big weekend is on tap at the John Walker Soccer Complex as Ole Miss and Saint Mary’s come to town. Tech has a 2-0 record and the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week in Victoria Esson ready to play.
Esson earned Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week for her two shutout victories over Rice and New Mexico State.
Ole Miss comes to Lubbock with a 1-0 record on the season and looking for pay back after losing to Tech 2-0 last season. Saint Mary’s tied New Mexico, 1-1, last weekend and will provide a stiff challenge for the Red Raiders.
Both start times are schedule for 7 p.m. so be sure to come early, be loud and get excited for Texas Tech Soccer.
Well the season-opening match is out of the way and we are only hours away from another big night at the John Walker Soccer Complex. The crowd of 1,215 for the home opener against Rice was phenomenal.
The Red Raiders used a goal by Tiffini Smith and some stellar goalkeeping from Victoria Esson to shutout Rice, 1-0, on Friday night. It was the fourth-straight season Tech has shutout its season opening opponent.
Be sure to come out tonight for the match with New Mexico State. Tech freshmen will get in free with an I.D. and it should be another exciting night of soccer.
